UX and UI design are often used interchangeably, but they are actually two very different things — and it’s important to know where one ends and the other begins. Not only do they represent very different parts of the product journey; they are also very separate career paths, requiring completely different skillsets.
As Dain Miller explains it: “UI is the saddle, the stirrups, & the reins. UX is the feeling you get being able to ride the horse.”
In this video, we introduce both UX and UI design and explain the key differences between the two. We also take a look at the role of both UX and UI designer: what kinds of tasks does each undertake? What are the main responsibilities of each? And how do you know which one is better suited to you?
